Bible
The books of the Holy Scriptures are divided into the sacred writings of the Old Testament and the sacred writings of the New Testament. There are 39 canonical books of the Old Testament, and 27 of the New Testament. The first were written by the Israelites from the 13th century BC to the 1st century BC, while the New Testament books were written from 40 to 100 AD.
Division:
1. Torah (Law), or the five books of Moses
2. Nevi'im (Prophets) - books classified into earlier and later prophets.
3. Ketuvim (Writings): Psalms, Job, Proverbs, Song of Songs, Ecclesiastes, Lamentations, Esther, Daniel, Ezra and Nehemiah, Diaries.
