2) Complete numbers adjacent to crosses or boundaries; blocks touching an edge can only extend in one direction.
3) Highlight the center blocks for single-number rows/columns. In a 10x10 grid, a "9" clue guarantees the center eight blocks, and an "8" clue guarantees the center six blocks.
4) Connect scattered blocks, using automatically filled crosses as separators to link inseparable blocks.
